Largest misorientation (degrees) from any orientation to its nearest point of the cubic Rodrigues grid.

Half the diagonal of a grid cell, at the origin where the grid is coarsest.

Parameters:

step_deg (float) – Grid step of orientation_grid() for a cubic crystal

Returns:

float – Worst-case misorientation in degrees
